If the aim is to optimize production processes, software plays an important role. The South German IT company 3E Datentechnik GmbH offers with 3E-LOOK an intelligent ERP solution for window and door manufacturers.
Our editor spoke to Felix Guttschau (FGU), Business Development Manager at 3E, and International Consultant Frans Visscher (FVI) about the importance of software and automation in window and door manufacturing.
3E Datentechnik has been in business for more than 25 years and knows the window production market thoroughly. How do you think a window manufacturer can prepare today for the challenges of tomorrow?
FGU: Every company has to look ahead. It is extremely important to have an excellent vision and to follow it consistently. End-to-end digital solutions are the tool of our time. Digitization saves costs, makes processes more efficient and offers companies security for the future.
3E-LOOK is considered to be an end-to-end digital sector solution. How does this modern software support window manufacturers in their job?
FVI: 3E-LOOK is an innovative ERP software which establishes end-to-end digital business processes: from the preparation of a quotation to delivery and installation. The innovative construction app also integrates processes that take place on the construction site or at the customer's premises into 3E-LOOK - including measurement, installation, maintenance and service.
FGU: 3E-LOOK has been innovated technologically in recent years. It distinguishes itself by a high level of practicality and user friendliness. We are strongly committed to the development of partnerships with technology partners, e. g. in the field of e-procurement and configurators.
Which features stand out the most?
FGU: The mobile solutions, for instance. They can trigger processes in 3E-LOOK. With the Materials management the entire ordering process can be handled digitally.
FVI: Other interesting features are the order processing, which plays a central role, the web solutions for the integration of our partners' solutions and the new developments in the field of NFC and RFID.
In the Netherlands, the company Aarnink, among others, opted for 3E-LOOK. Can you give us more information about this project?
FGU: Aarnink opted for 3E as supplier and service provider and for 3E-LOOK as flexible and open business software. A particular requirement was the integration of specific accounting processes. To provide customized solutions is our strong point. Today, the Dutch company does not only use 3E-LOOK, but also ELO for a paperless office. This is where we strongly distinguish ourselves: We offer comprehensive, integrated software solutions.
You have brought in "Dutch reinforcement". What are your plans for the Netherlands and the Benelux?
FGU: 3E is known to be a reliable and professional partner offering solutions which strengthen the market position of our customers. The joining of Frans in our team is evidence of our efforts to meet the or customers' requirements in this region.
